Existing members are actively training in skills required for our land, such as organic farming, animal husbandry and beekeeping, as well as interpersonal skills. We aspire to become a source of education and inspiration for the wider community, and envisage running courses and workshops.
We also hold permaculture training courses. Permaculture certification is recommended for all residents, and is necessary for anyone who wishes to be involved in managing the common land.
Six young families are already involved in the farm, and are looking at a range of schooling options, including conventional schooling (there is a good school in nearby Beachlands), Steiner, Montessori and co-operative homeschooling.
